Charge these prices in every market.

RentAnOTT supports regional plans, local payment methods, taxes, trials and coupons out of the box, so each country sees its own price on your branded apps.

Exchange rates and price levels are rounded reference values, not live data. Check app-store price tiers, local taxes and competitor pricing before you publish.

How the calculator sets prices

  1. Start from your US price, for example $7.99.
  2. Look up each country's price level: how expensive it is relative to the US, based on purchasing power parity.
  3. Move the price part or all of the way toward that level using the adjustment setting, but never below your floor.
  4. Convert to local currency and round to a familiar local price point.

Choosing the adjustment strength

At 0% everyone pays the same USD price, which overprices emerging markets. At 100% prices track local price levels fully, which can leave thin margins after payment fees. Most streaming services land between 50% and 80%, with a floor of 20–30% of the base price.

App stores also have their own price tiers per country, so match the closest tier for in-app purchases.

FAQ

Common questions

What is localized pricing?

Localized pricing means charging a different price in each country based on local purchasing power, currency and competition, instead of converting one USD price. A $7.99 plan converted directly to rupees is out of reach for most Indian viewers, while a ₹199 plan fits the market.

How does purchasing power parity (PPP) pricing work?

PPP compares what the same basket of goods costs in different countries. Dividing a country's PPP conversion factor by its exchange rate gives a price level relative to the US. The calculator multiplies your base price by that price level, scaled by the adjustment strength you choose.

Should I fully adjust prices to purchasing power?

Usually not. Full adjustment can push prices so low that payment fees eat the margin and VPN arbitrage becomes attractive. Many services adjust 50–80% of the way and set a price floor, then test from there.

Why do local prices end in 9 or .99?

Charm pricing is the norm in most markets, so ₹199 or €4.99 looks familiar and trustworthy, while ₹187.34 looks like a currency conversion. The calculator rounds each currency to its common local pattern.

How often should I update localized prices?

Review prices at least once or twice a year, or after a large currency move. Frequent changes frustrate subscribers, so many services keep existing subscribers on their current price and apply new prices to new sign-ups.
