# What is app store submission?

App store submission is the process of preparing a streaming app, sending it to a store such as Apple's App Store, Google Play, the Amazon Appstore or a smart TV store for review, and publishing it once approved.

## What a submission involves

- A developer account with each store, in your company's name
- The app build, signed and packaged to the store's requirements
- A listing: name, description, icon, screenshots and preview images for each device
- Age rating, privacy policy and data-collection declarations
- A test account so reviewers can sign in and play video
- In-app products configured in the store, if you sell through its billing

## Review times and stores

Mobile stores usually review within a few days. Television stores, particularly smart TV makers, test on real hardware and can take longer, with stricter checks on remote-control navigation and playback.

Every update is reviewed again, though later reviews are normally quicker than the first.

## Common reasons for rejection

- Reviewers cannot sign in or find playable content
- Digital goods sold without the store's billing where it is required
- Missing or inaccurate privacy disclosures
- Crashes, broken playback or navigation that does not work with a remote
- Listing artwork or metadata that does not match the store's rules

## Frequently asked questions

### Whose developer account is the app published under?

Yours, for a branded service. The store listing shows your company as the publisher, and the account stays with you if you change vendor.

### How long does approval take?

From a day or two on mobile stores to several weeks on some television platforms. Allow extra time for a first submission and for fixing anything a reviewer raises.

### Does an update need to be submitted again?

Changes to the app itself do. Changes made in the CMS, such as new titles, prices or home page layout, reach the app without a new submission.
